Obiter.

How on earth do you study for LS?? I honestly have absolutely no clue, not the faintest idea AT ALL. Thank God for Ly who was super sweet and sent me some notes <3 <3 <3 Eternally grateful!!! In the meanwhile I am enjoying yummy macaroni in all its cheesy gloriousness (only I can make such perfect food) and wondering how long it's going to take for me to become super fat thanks to a complete lack of exercise :(
S had a performance today for navarathiri and has a few more coming up over the weekend. Soon it'll be vijayadashami and my birthday!! I wonder what presents I will get hehe.

We shall not defame our neighbours.

Whyyyyyyyyyyyy does my head hurt so much. I've been having a splitting headache since yesterday and no sleep/pills/hot water seem to be working. WHY is it that I always seem to have some problem before an LSLMA anything? Maybe I'm allergic to it.

Right now we're in Crim, doing PD. Was just wondering if there is an eclipse and the world is plunged into darkness in the middle of the day and someone tries to break into your house, could I kill the person and invoke PD? Or what if there is a huge volcanic eruption and the ash covers the sunlight and we are all going to enter the next ice age and someone chooses to break into my house? Will I be able to invoke PD?

Some other things we are learning:

1. If someone says they're going to rape you and then laughs, it won't be considered a reasonable apprehension of danger (WHAT IF HE'S INSANE?)
2. Don't carry the deed to your house in your bag
3. Hitting a person on the head with a mortar IS NOT the same as making Ribena.

Dazed.

It's finally over and I had no idea how tired I was until this second. I am so fatigued I could collapse any second. Please please why are you so hardcore.

Wednesday, 28 September 2011

1 up, 1 down = zero stillllllllllll urgh.

Monday, 26 September 2011

Totally different.

I am so intimidated :/ Why are they all like this?

Sunday, 25 September 2011

Why on earth is Zurich Insurance 85 pages long?!

It's been a pretty long time since I had a witty conversation with anyone so having buddy boy to text right through the day was great :) Thanks best friend!! I am so glad you accepted my unorthodox offer of friendship when we were at school together heh heh heh.

I wake up every morning feeling ridiculously exhausted. I have no good alarms to wake me up since the demise of Poddy (I miss you so much) and my new phone has the most retarded/embarrassing ringtone ever. So in essence, I am unable to wake up properly and when I finally DO get up, I wake up feeling dizzy and downright sick which basically means... I'M STILL TIRED and my body is protesting to being awake. Why this is so, I am unable to fathom. Maybe it's because I've started dreaming, and remembering my dreams, again. Ever since school started I've had no/very few dreams and whatever dreams I did have I could not remember. Called L the other night on the phone and I told her how I can't remember my dreams anymore and right after that I find I can -_- So strange.

Today I spent a fair amount of time editing my girls' work. Was extremely tiring, I had no idea teaching would be like this :/ Sometimes I wonder if I am breeding over-dependence :/

Got a lot of frivolous work out of the way so feel a little better about my life. Some of the major stuff still remains unresolved - like the immense amount of work piling up. I seem to have reached a new level of chillness~ I just can't bring myself to feel stressed by anything and I don't feel any urge to run away either. I'm just floating? I think. It is an awkward, not altogether unpleasant experience (for now. I am sure it is going to get unpleasant soon)

Just ended a call with my equally tired out Contract groupmates. All of us are just so tired. Cannot wait for this thing to be over!! Then it'll be one subject out of our hair for the time being. I am rather pleased with the way my group has kind of pulled together and how everyone is pulling equal weight now :) Makes it easier to work with everyone. Don't want to be part of a backstabbing, bitchy group the way some groups are. So much drama for whattttt. Our hypos provide more than enough drama thank you very much.

Haven't started reading anything for this week's classes and omggg Crim looks TERRIBLE. Not to mention the upcoming LS test on Saturday. Grrrrrrrrrreatttt.

I wish I could go for the wedding :'(

Saturday, 24 September 2011

Pretty in pink.

I thought that today's session at school was pretty good :) I am thankful for having group mates who don't misconstrue things or hold grudges so that we all can work together successfully. I thought we managed to cover a fair bit though we were missing one brain...

Came home, watched some interesting interviews on TV (nice to see how people develop and grow), read a little and am now so pooped I could just

Absolutely futile.

If all my words are nothing but complaints and all my fears only whining, how can I ever talk to you? You refuse to listen to reason and all I am is a mere speck of dust, waiting to brushed to the floor.

A tiring encounter with a stubborn ant.

Today was an okay day. Woke up, read some stuff on sudden fight, went to school had a great Crim class, hung around, met my LTB group, interviewed the CEO of Timbre and then came home. Crim was really amazing today. Prof R was in a really great mood for some reason, she kept smiling and laughing heh. We went through a hilarious Popeye, Bluto and Olive Oyl hypothetical
!

Then my LTB group and I set off to Timbre to interview Mr. Edward Chia, the CEO of Timbre Group. He's really young and quite cool! I like the way he spoke - clear, no nonsense, professional, direct yet friendly and sincere.
Came home exhausted, going to bed exhausted. It has been an emotionally draining

The odd flickering streetlamp will neither hinder nor guide.

You wander about
Eyes lifted to the sky
Blinking back wet anger
That clouds your night

Then cool metal
Grazes your skin
Breathe in deep
Take it all in

Warm rain, the smell of earth
Just a step
The stench of futility rises in swirls, pungent and invasive
Wrapping its curls

Around your every atom
Seeping in your skin
Oozing through your veins
Further in

A faint call
They stand in the mist
Nods and waves
No more than wisps

The circus beckons
Lost from view
You cry out loud
They can't hear you

Little red drops
Scattered on the ground
Still inside
Your vacant compound

Your outstretched hand
Is met by wind
Ravished and chapped
Flayed and skinned

You lean forward
Letting your forehead settle
Tired and cold
The permeating taste of metal

A thrill of terror
Shoots up your spine
The bruise of regret
Still an ugly black shine

You have chosen your path
Without favour or fear
The night is deep
The roads are clear

Reject the poison
Coursing through your brain
A state of vacuum
Is all you should claim.

I. Want. To. Quit.

You think it's a big deal so you think that I'm acting up because of it. Shows how much you have been listening to me. Haven't you heard?

Only for Contract.

So tired in school - up so late every night.

Saturday, 17 September 2011

"I agree".

Orr LJ, you are a true master.

Didn't make it, again.

Just yesterday I thought "hey, this isn't too bad after all". But guess what. It still is.

Thursday, 15 September 2011

Thursday shouldn't come after Wednesday.

Just ended a 2 hour 34 second call with my Contract group mates. I enjoyed talking to them, it was nice working it out together. Hopefully this will continue into our written and oral presentations?!?!?

Wednesday, 14 September 2011

Xy wants to run 15KM minimum tomorrow :'(

WHY DID I NOT KNOW SHE WAS A GYM FREAK EARLIER??? Long Wednesdays in session as usual. Crim was nice and talking to Xy afterwards was even better. Hopefully today won't be as exhausting as it usually is.

Tuesday, 13 September 2011

My free days are never free.

I end up having sooooooooooo many things to do, it's crazy. Went to the Skin Centre in the morning to get a blood test done and then to see the doctor. Place was swarming with Med school students. Hadn't eaten anything since 7 the night before so I was like hungry for 19 hours!!!!! Double the time they told me I couldn't eat. Was dying so stuffed my face after that with Subway and Sogurt then left for tuition. My kids' promos are this Friday and I am soo nervous! Their language skills have improved and they're really a lot better now but an exam is an exam and strange things tend to happen during exams. It was a fun lesson, pretty productive except that I find I always hang around for 45 minutes to an hour longer than I'm supposed to :/ Hope they don't hate me for that. Reached home at 9 carrying a heck of a lot of groceries, a tearing bag, huge books and files and notes and drawing block (I wanted some okay!). Now I'm so pooped. Very little reading for Crim but reading is reading all the same. Time to get down on it~~ J's flight is tonight, gave her a short call earlier. Hope everything goes well and that the flight is comfortable for them :) Must remember to call L and L tomorrrowwwwwwwwwwwww. Their lives are so interesting now!

Monday, 12 September 2011

A very frustrating day.

I don't understand how I'm always so ridiculously early for AS on Monday mornings. It takes barely 30 minutes to get to school?!?

Then had
Then came the glorious time of going home!! Went home and ate the world's yummiest lunch, chatted with Ma and am now sitting with Consideration, my bestest friend in the world.

Sunday, 11 September 2011

Finally our gym date will materialise.

I realise I spend a heck of a lot of time out on Sunday mornings for tuition. I leave at 930 for a 1030 class then spend about 3 hours there instead of 2 (my poor kids just want to get rid of me but I don't leave heheh) and then spend 1 1/2 hours coming home. That's like 5 1/2 hours out. MAN that's a lot of time. Nervous for their exams this week :/

I really haven't been studying at all. I know my constant flippant repetition of this sounds like I'm really closet mugger but dude, if I have time to post frequently and extensively then obviously I'm not doing anything else right.

Bah better start working on the Contract written assignment thingo.

Saturday, 10 September 2011

Some friends of mine.

Right. So much for my 'resolution' to study. So far only my Sims have been studying and getting As. I...have been controlling them.

Life's tough.

Was looking through my messages and realised that I forgot to tell L what Type 1 - 3 type US mapillais are!!

Okay today no time for fun and games. Going to be intense Contract today. I have to start from Offer-Acceptance because I don't understand anything about anything :(

--

On a side note, it's so weird to think that in a few days some people who used to be/are close to me will be miles and miles away.

Friday, 9 September 2011

Yup, that's pretty much it.

Went through today half-asleep. Been running on a severe sleep deficit this week and I'm glad today was a fairly short day. Crim was tough and a little scary. I just feel so dumb :( Even though I know what's going on, whenever I open my mouth only stupid stuff comes out :'( Came home, ate lunch, felt very small and insignificant.

So cute!!

Isn't he adorable!!

Thursday, 8 September 2011

Finally.

I had the best day ever with J, V and Xy :')

Ah, the joys of being a judge.

When in doubt, dismiss the case. OR just flip a coin and pick one.

I'm no slacker, but I'm no mugger either.

The A's were a piece of cake compared to this.

Wednesday, 7 September 2011

Unreal.

Okay so let's see what happened today.

Crim was interesting and I had almostttt finished the readings. save one or two cases. FINALLY!!! But after week 1, I've had to make a choice between reading for Crim and reading for Contract and invariably I end up reading Crim because I get through it a little bit faster. So Contract has been languishing pathetically. I only just finished reading Offer, Acceptance yesterday :/ There is so much more to go, I doubt I'll even pass this year man.

Met Xy after that and we hung out for a while. I love meeting her and chatting with her, we always have the best of times. Today was chill, we chatted, listened to cool music, she did FA (I am still very impressed) and I tried reading up on Consideration...which failed miserably.

Then left for LTB which was okay though I was feeling rather antsy from the lack of sleep and because of the length of the class in general.

After that rushed over to Food for Thought to meet Lis, Rox and Dor for dinner. They had a waiting time of 45 minutes though and I thought that was cutting it rather close for my interview and dinner. Rox showed up first and she had a bag full of clothes she had bought in her shopping trip today. I haven't seen her since... her birthday party which was in June! Man time flies. And soon she'll be on a flight too :/ Her room and stuff sounds brilliant though her orientation night activities sound a little questionable (what is UP with Brits and drinking man). Lis then showed up with her taekwando pants hehe. So cute. Then Dor showed up. Chatted a bit more outside while glaring at the staff and patrons inside.

We finally got a seat andddd I had to rush off for my interview.

Went back to find that the ravenous girls had snarfed everything so I ate quietly on my own while they deliberated on what dessert to get. They finally settled on Earl Grey creme brulee (it kind of grows on you!) and I went for the Red Velvet cake which was BLOODY good! HAHAHA.

Okay why am I relating everything in sordid detail you may ask. COME ON MAN. I am going to be seeing this guys once a year MAX for the next three years! Things like these need to be remembered. It was lovely spending time with them. Conversation was easy and fun and there was no fear of judgement or any prejudice. More than anything the fact that we have a common shared history of love, hate and strange friendship (our class was a mess) binds us together and it's wonderful in the most perverse of ways.

And I'm still not done.

I have been awake for almost 24 hours. It has been such a loooooooong day. I am still struggling to finish 1/8th of the readings for this morning's class.

Tuesday, 6 September 2011

Let'ssssssss go.

Just woke up. I went to bed at 6 and now it's 330. I've got to prepare stuff for the kids' tuition later and start reading for the week.

Monday, 5 September 2011

Great start to the week.

Finally went for my AS class! From Law there's Fangyi, Fiona and Marcus in my class so it's nice to see some familiar faces.

Attempted to revive my iPod with Fiona's Mac during class but no luck :'( Look like Poddy is truly gone forever.

We got assigned our groups today for AS and the project we'll be doing. Just my luck, I'm in the
which is doing the debate in Week 13 :( How unfortunate.

We got another assignment/test to do and mannnn I suck at sets so much. Fangyi and Fiona were going at it with such ease and speed, I felt really
Headed off for LSLMA after that which was a thrilling lesson as usual. Collectively our class has now spent 6 loooong hours on the Donoghue case. And no one still has any clue what it's about. Or at least, most. Everyone, including the TA, was on Facebook chatting heh. L compiled the quotes as usual. Here are some:

HG: "Jesus was a Christian"

HG: "Does the average reasonable man bring rainbows every time it rains?"

HEHEH.

Now I am so tired I am going to sleep.

Sunday, 4 September 2011

Avoiding readings.

Did I mention that last week I won my first ever lucky draw!! Won a pair of movie tickets so happy!!! I have finally won something!!!!!!!! In not so glad news, I did not make it.

Saturday, 3 September 2011

There is no justice in this world.

See you soon.

Funny how a broken friendship can make you feel this way.

Had a vivid dream that made me think that everything was okay even after I woke up.

Don't know if I miss you, but I miss our friendship for sure.

Paling.

I feel so out of sync with my classmates sometimes. Most are so hardworking and studious and I'm like..... too carefree? I know some of them stay really really REALLY late studying in the library. And even if they're not really studying, at least they're THERE with the book in front of them so if even just two words register that's two more words than what's in my brain. I won't say I feel pressured or stressed but I do feel rather confused. Am I abnormal not to study that much? Or am I one of the few normal ones in my class to just ~chill out~ and hang loose? :/

--

Anyway, yesterday after Contract (which was totally foreign to me. Still don't get Consideration :'( ) went to eat lunch with Fiona, her friend and Penelope. We decided to try the Glassroom at SIS. Okay to be more accurate, three of them tried out the Glassroom while I ate my puliotharai and appalam + vadam from my Barbie lunchbox <3 Yesterday was Ganesh Chathurthi so no outside food. Wasn't too keen on eating anything foreign anyway actually. Been having terrible acid reflux urgh.

When we were there A REALLY COOL THING HAPPENED. The cafe overlooks Stamford Road outside the National Museum and we saw HUGE clouds of black billowing smoke (photos on Penelope's iPhone which I shall get and upload). The smoke was terrible and it was coming from the bonnet of this sleek, black, shiny Mercedes Benz standing on the side of the road. The owner/driver had run off because there was no one standing next to it and it was damn exciting/scary because people thought it was going to blow up??? Some people from the cafe ran downstairs and gave a White guy a fire extinguisher and he sprayed the car enthusiastically but it didn't make much of a difference, the smoke actually got worse. Lucky the traffic was not so bad at the time but some gundus were slowing down their vehicles to get a better look at this mess like ARE YOU FREAKING CRAZY?!?! Why would you do that!!

The fire extinguisher was extinguished hehe and the smoke didn't stop! That's when we started seeing flames lick the fender of the car from under the bonnet. The fender then fell off onto the road and CRACKED. It was so hot. Thank goodness the fire engine turned up soon after and sprayed the car with water. It took a good long while for the flames to die down and the smoke to turn white and then become steam. In their hurry the pipe wasn't fixed properly so the entire road was hosed down too haha.

Then the fire fighters prised open the bonnet with a huge jackhammer and when they opened it the insides were black and there was this leathery thing on top of the metal parts which was burnt out of recognition and by that time the food had arrived so I was dragged away from the show :(

Yup, somebody else's burning car is as exciting as my life gets.

Had a good lunch conversation after which I went to the Helpdesk with Fiona to get our computers sorted out. She's so nice! :)

Then went to the doctor who told me I had a stomach flu :'( So now I've got to take some gross medication and eat no oil, chocolates, sweet things, spicy things, curried things, basically anything yummy for the next 7 days :(

Then went back to 'study' with Fiona. I spent most of my time doing crosswords online while she actually studied.......

Anyway, left to go for S class. Was feeling pretty down and a little lonely so gave L a call and we chatted for a while. Her Hindi is getting to be pretty damn good. So proud of her!

Class was fun though I must say that it was not something I was expecting. I guess I was expecting a more traditional style/kind of learning but that won't be possible in such a short period of time.

After class hung around looking at the people skating at the Skate Park. I saw, for the first time, aggressive skates called 'Jugs'. The guys were doing some really cool stunts. The buses were taking wayyyy to long to come so I gave Pa a call. In the end instead of him picking me up, I drove us home. First time driving in the dark and it was pretty weird but the roads were fairly clear so that was good. Still not too comfortable sitting in his car but hey it's only my third time driving the car so it should get better I hope.

Came home super pooped. Went to bed pretty late though.

--

This morning woke up early with the intention to read Criminal Law but ended up reading the COMEX show stuff instead -_- Left early for LTB meeting. Was the earliest and the most tired :(

Went for Crim, enjoyed it andddd got on the bus and came home.

Home - suffered a bad stomach ache attack and rolled around in misery for a while, struggled through a bowl of noodles, tried to nap in vain, played Sims and got bored and nowww am typing this on a poor internet connection.

Most other peoples' days were: Crim Law, library, pro-bono talk, home.

AND NOW I AM FEELING SLEEPY. GREAT.

Thursday, 1 September 2011

Another day at school.

When my Contract Law Professor started talking about 'puffs' this was all I could think about...
